Can you transfer French Open tickets to someone else?

Facts checked November 2, 2026 by the French Open Insider editorial team

    Short answer

In some cases, yes. Roland-Garros travel packages can be passed to another person, and the ticketing system has a ticket assignment (transfer) function in the app. Tickets are digital and issued in a name, and Roland-Garros sets the transfer rules for each edition without publishing steps we could confirm, so read the FAQ on tickets.rolandgarros.com first.

How do French Open tickets work?

Since 2024, Roland-Garros ticketing has been 100% mobile. Tickets appear in the official app as the tournament approaches, as one dynamic ticket for the whole visit. There are no paper or print-at-home tickets, and the 2027 ticketing site says every spectator must show a ticket from the Roland-Garros mobile app.

Tickets are tied to a person. Roland-Garros describes its travel-package tickets as nominative, and in 2025 the French radio station Europe 1 advised buyers to check that their first name, last name and date of birth appeared on each ticket.

Can I give my ticket to a friend?

The system allows it in some form. The official ticketing site has shown a notice saying "ticket assignment is now available on the mobile application", and another saying ticket transfer, allocation and resale were temporarily unavailable, which shows all three functions exist.

What we could not confirm is how transfers work for the next edition: the steps in the app, any deadline, how many tickets you can pass on, and whether the name on the ticket changes. Roland-Garros sets these rules for each edition in its terms of sale and ticketing FAQ, so check them on tickets.rolandgarros.com rather than relying on third-party guides.

If you cannot go, the two routes Roland-Garros runs itself are the app's assignment option, if it is open for your ticket, and the official resale platform.

What about draw places and travel packages?

    • A draw place cannot be passed on. Your FFT account and a selection in the ticket draw are personal. The 2026 rules say purchase-slot login details "may not be assigned, transferred, or delegated". This covers the right to buy, not a ticket you already hold.
    • A travel package can. Email the new participant's details to Roland-Garros Travel customer service. Package tickets arrive in the app about one week before the visit, imported with a recovery code sent by email.

Will my ID be checked at the gate?

It can be. Europe 1 reported in 2025 that valid ID would be requested at the entrance. Mastercard's 2026 Roland-Garros package terms say each guest's name must be on the ticket and that the organizer may ask for proof of identity, and in 2025 guests of the L'Orangerie hospitality lounge showed a nominative e-ticket and ID at its desk.

We found no Roland-Garros page saying every general-public ticket is checked against ID. Carry a passport or ID card that matches the name on your ticket.

What does this mean if I buy on resale?

A resale ticket is only useful if it reaches your phone in the official app before the day. Resale marketplaces sit outside Roland-Garros's own system, so before you pay, ask the seller how and when the ticket will be transferred, whose name it will carry and what happens if it does not arrive. PDF tickets are not valid at Roland-Garros.

The where to buy guide compares the options, and the refund policy guide covers what happens when a session is cancelled.

    People also ask

    Are French Open tickets nominative?

Yes. Tickets are issued in a person's name and held in the Roland-Garros app. Roland-Garros describes its travel-package tickets as nominative, and 2026 partner package terms say each guest's name must be on the ticket.

How do I transfer my tickets to another person?

Use the assignment option in the Roland-Garros app if it is open for your ticket, and follow the current rules on tickets.rolandgarros.com. For a Roland-Garros travel package, email the new participant's details to the travel customer service.

Can I print my French Open ticket?

No. Since 2024 there have been no paper or print-at-home tickets. Every ticket is shown in the Roland-Garros app on your phone, so keep it charged and logged in on the day.

Can I resell my French Open ticket?

Roland-Garros runs an official resale platform on tickets.rolandgarros.com. Its 2027 opening date, fees and rules had not been published as of November 2, 2026.
